|

Hi all,
I hope someone can stop me banging my head against the wall!
The notebook has a SiS-chipset and a ATI Radeon Mobility 9600 and i don't get it to work.
Things I've done:
I'm using kernel 2.4.22 (2.6.0test9-11 crashes right away), XFree 4.3.0-r3 and ati-drivers 3.2.8
There's no DRI in the kernel and agpgart is a module.
emerge ati-drivers works fine.
opengl-update ati works fine, too.
X will start but when it is started a second time it crashes the whole system.
DRI is not working. When I try to set UseInternalAGP to "no" then it crashes the whole system at the first start attempt.
Please help me! |

i think that the problem might have sth to do with AGP. If i load agpgart as module and tell the fglrx-driver not to use the internal AGP then it crashes the whole system. If i tell it to use the internal AGP then it works fine now, but it fails to init the AGP and therefore no DRI. All I know it's a SiS chipset for a P4.
Do i need agpgart as module or in the kernel when I tell the fglrx-driver to use internal AGP or should I better completely remove it from the kernel?
Or if I want to use external AGP should agpgart be in the kernel or a module?
Thanx a lot. |
