|
|
Hello, I'm trying to be able to toggle my wireless connections with my built in (Thinkpad X60) hardware switch. However, after I load the appropriate module (rfkill via modprobe), I get no response from flipping the switch, and "modprobe list" returns the output (software and hardware both not blocked) for either state.
For completeness sake, here is the output of rfkill list:
Code: |
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
|
I'm not sure where to look next, so any tips would be great. Thanks, and have a nice day! |

Check if there are any events in /var/log/messages (if you are using acpid with the default config) or install/use xev to see if it sends keyboard events. If it sends acpi events you have to edit /etc/acpi/default.sh. The later one requires you to configure your window manager to run a command.
Note: While /etc/acpi/default.sh is run as root, your window manager will execute every command as your user, which means you need the right to use the switch. I use a udev rule for that:
Code: |
% cat /etc/udev/rules.d/51-rfkill-users-group.rules
KERNEL=="rfkill", GROUP=users, MODE="0664"
