Getting this frequently. I have logged out and logged in again. I have tried with and without "remember me". I have deleted my cookies. I have tried on wifi and wireless connections.

If I just resubmit the form, it never helps.

Visiting the page again, and clicking "postreply" anew occasionally works. Restarting the browser seems to help, but just for the first post.

I do have NoScript and HTTPS Everywhere installed. But using Firefox in "safe mode" (with all extensions disabled) doesn't help.

If you're on a load balancing proxy, it may cause this.

I am not using a load balancing proxy (don't know about my ISP).

By the way, the forum is working fine for me since yesterday. Let's see how long it lasts!

And there's the rub, it sometimes indeed is out of your control.

I've been getting randomly logged out more than usual as of late too...

Was something changed server-side recently? Getting kicked out after only 4 days is a bit obnoxious.

This hadn't happened for a while, but it's becoming more and more frequent as of late. Happened earlier this week to me, and twice today; just now I opened a half dozen threads in tabs and found I'd been logged out inbetween. I haven't changed anything on my end and I usually remember to use the "stay logged in" checkbox...

Maybe something related to opening multiple tabs? I think I see that once in a great while. I don't recall when it last happened, but I'd say too infrequent to think it was a server side problem. Do browsers include any logging facilities to provide additional info?

There have been some other issues: Unretrievable post.... And while that appears to be a bug, it seems to be happening with increased frequency (I don't recall encountering the problem until recently, and have only seen it once within the last 1-2 months).

Not sure if I could get much info from the browser, but I'll be keeping an eye on it if I can. The login cookie seems to have a correct expiry date.

I know that phpBB rolls its own session mechanism instead of using PHP's built in one (which can be flaky), so it's probably not that... (argh reading 12 year old php code)

I didn't figure there would be much, but this is one of those scenarios that seems very difficult to hunt down without much reproducability. I was thinking it could possibly be related to the opening of multiple tabs and some piece of code stepping over itself in the process. I believe when I've seen it, I was also opening multiple tabs. Which may mean nothing more than more page loads = more opportunity to encounter the issue.
