i usually give them names that represent their versions
bzImage26t5 and bzImage26t10 and such, and i move the configfile to the same directory, also renamed to represent the versions. i just make entries for each kernel in lilo to be able to choose at boot time _________________ registered user #284425

I think I got it.
Code: | bash-2.05b# uname -r
2.6.0-test11
bash-2.05b#

I also got my sensors working. I only had to recompile about twenty times. It works though.
I like this Gentoo. I still say it is a lot faster than Mandrake.
Thanks for all the help and support guys, and gals if there are any.
I'm almost ready to add kdm to default. I also got to copy all this stuff over to my new hard drive. I hope it still works when I get that done. cp -rp is what I have read. Do that later. This flu is getting me down.
Thanks again.

I'm disabled so being sick is nothing unusual. I do hate this flu bug though. I saw on the news where they have folks killing over because of it. I'll keep moving around so it won't get that bad.
Now back to Linux. I'm in the process of copying over my stuff and my Gentoo LOCKS UP. The clock stops and nothing responds. It did that two or three times. I ran into this once with Mandrake and it was actually a NVIDIA driver issue. I disabled it and it still did it once more for good measure I guess. I got Mandrake copied though.
Now to get Grub moved over.??
Later
