Hi I want to install gentoo but first i want to know if my hardware is ready. Is there a list somewhere on this site? I have been looking but cannot find it. Unless somebody can tell me if my hardware is ok.
1. Samsung 955DF monitor
2. ASUS P4G8X Deluxe (intel 7205)
3. M-Audio Revolution 7.1 sound card
4. Pioneer Slot loading DVD Drive
5. SATA Seagate HD

ATI video cards can be a little tricky to get working, But I got mine working last week so it is doable. There is lots of good help on the forums here if you search around. The only other thing in your list that I don't know about is your soundcard, Do you know any more technical specs about it? what chips, etc? _________________ http://ckdake.com/ |

I just found a site that says that they have some drivers that will work for my sound card. |

Well you should be good to go then! When compiling your kernel, look around for sound card options in there. Mine shows up as the name of my motherboards southbridge ship since the 6.1 controller is on the motherboard. _________________ http://ckdake.com/ |
