https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=202739 explains the details. Workaround // Set DRM_FBDEV_EMULATION=y, I2C_CHARDEV=y, and DRM_RADEON=m in kernel config for now.

Thank you! Had this issue randomly triggered at reboot on my previous install and it bothered me immensely, but I was never able to figure out the cause.
