Toshiba M30 (GeForceFX Go 5200) and X (kernel 2.6.0)

Hi all,

I know where are many threads about X and nvidia, but I could not find a solution for my problem.

If I start X with startx, I see the Nvidia logo and then I am back on the console. :evil:

If I start X with 'XFree86 -xf86config /etc/X11/XF86Config-4', I see the Nvidia logo an then a black screen with a cursor.

I tested the config from knoppix and the config created with XFree86 -configure. Both didn't work.

Here are my log's and my config:

X config

I am using 2.6.0-test9-mm5!

I hope you guys will help me getting gentoo running on my new notebook.

I now tried the X Config from http://www.thorstenhaas.de/toshiba2410/ but it still won't work.

Now I got a working config from somebody how got the same laptop.

But startx still fails.

here ist the config:

now it works ... was my fault ... wrong .xinitrc.

xdm works perfect.
