Can anyone clear up the versioning for SeaMonkey in the Gentoo repo?
The latest upstream version is 2.49.4 with 2.49.5 on its way as a minor release with the ESR60 security fixes being (hopefully) backported to the 2.49 tree; 2.57 is the next major release, based more on ESR60, looks to be a long ways away.
Info taken from the latest meeting.
The latest (and only) version in the repo is "2.49.9.1_p0".
Where did this come from? Is it an unofficial Gentoo-patched version? What upstream version is this based on? _________________

Looking at SRC_URI it seems likely that it derives that version number from Thunderbird's source code (52.9.1). In which case it should already have whatever security fixes are getting backported to that ESR52 branch. |
