Hi... apparently, I'm unable to get hardware OpenGL rendering working with my ATI Rage 128.
I check /var/log/XFree86.0.log and find this:
Code: | drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0
drmOpenDevice: open result is 5, (OK)
drmOpenByBusid: drmOpenMinor returns 5
drmOpenByBusid: drmGetBusid reports PCI:1:5:0
(II) R128(0): [drm] drmSetBusid failed (5, PCI:1:5:0), Device or resource busy
(EE) R128(0): [dri] DRIScreenInit failed. Disabling DRI. |
Anyone know why this would be happening? _________________ I make comics. Read them. They are good for your soul.

This is a longshot but do you have the wrong location specified for video card in your XF86Config file? _________________ Long live the gentoo forums!!!!! |

I'm fairly sure I don't, though I don't know exactly where I'd specify it.
It does recognize the driver "r128" _________________ I make comics. Read them. They are good for your soul.

look in the file /etc/X11/XF86Config that is where it would be specified. _________________ Long live the gentoo forums!!!!! |

oooh... looks like I was able to fix that problem with a reboot. Thanks for your help though.
And here I figured this was the reason Half-Life can't load OpenGL in Wine.... apparently not: Half-Life still no workin. Stupid error about "The selected OpenGL mode is not supported by your video card." BS it isn't.
Perhaps I can get it working if I update to the newest version of half-life....
Ah. Well anyway... thanks for your advice : ) _________________ I make comics. Read them. They are good for your soul.
