I have been installing Gentoo and recently started following some hardening stuffs. While doing this: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Hardened_Gentoo, I got to the point where I was doing emerge --emptytree --verbose @world. Now everything was going fine until it went to build metalog, which failed. Here is the support info:

Code:

livecd / # emerge --info '=app-admin/metalog-3-r2::gentoo'
Portage 2.3.62 (python 3.6.5-final-0, default/linux/amd64/17.0/hardened, gcc-8.2.0, glibc-2.28-r5, 4.19.27-gentoo-r1 x86_64)

app-admin/metalog-3-r2::gentoo was built with the following:
USE="unicode" ABI_X86="(64)"
CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="-O2 -pipe"

I want to fix this issue before I continue. The end game here is to do a successful install, then do a minimal one (i.e. doing one with only what I want, this may seem like I am crazy or something. But I never installed 206 packages nor did I realize base was 706 :/). Thank you in advance! If there is any additional info which would help, please let me know.

You need to sync and then try again.
