per il backup dell'intero sistema potrebbe andare bene una cosa del genere?

Non l'ho mai fatto ma magari ricordati anche di montare la /boot prima di lanciare il comando.

Scusate se vado un pò fuori topic ,ma utilizzando l'archivio scompattato dovrei reinstallare il sistema base o rigenerare solo il boot?

Se parti da HD formattato completamente, dovresti ache reistallare il bootloader...senza reinstallare il sistema base |
