I'm trying to install Gentoo on my Macbook Pro (12,1). I've gotten to the part of the amd64 handbook where you run
Code:
emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep --newuse @world
. I have chosen the default/linux/amd64/17.0/systemd as my profile. I get the following error during the configure phase
Code:

 * ERROR: dev-libs/libpcre2-10.32::gentoo failed (configure phase):

This says that an error happened, but not what error.

Next time, please follow the instructions in each of these lines. In most cases, if you skip one step, someone will ask you to follow that step, so following the instructions during your initial post will save you a round trip waiting for a useful answer. Fortunately, in this case, your emerge --info reveals the error:

You need a - on every option. You omitted it from -march=native, so your flags tell the compiler to find and compile a file named march=native. No such file exists, so the build fails. Add the leading - and try again.

Thanks for your help! And thanks for helping a n00b out. I'll be sure to post all the info in the future.
