here is what happens when i try the commands :
https://ibb.co/9h1F1qD
Can you confirm I am installing things properly ?
first I install "emerge --ask sys-power/suspend" for suspend to RAM.
then I install "emerge --ask sys-power/hibernate-script" for hibernate to RAM.
"pm-suspend" or "s2ram" suspends to RAM.
"hibernate-ram" hibernates to RAM.
is 4GB enough for suspending/hibernating to RAM ?

You can use suspend-to-RAM with any amount of RAM that runs the system. RAM remains powered and retains its contents. |

did i install everything properly ?
since the above mentioned commands did not work I used:
cat /sys/power/state ... which returned:
freeze mem disk
then i tried:
echo mem > /sys/power/state which suspended the system
I suppose that the following command hibernates the system:
echo disk > /sys/power/state
where will the data go when hibernating ? will it go into the swap partition ? when I suspend to disk, will the computer stay on or it gets turned off ? |
