I have a Compaq Proliant 6500 running Gentoo.
My primary storage is a 7-node 50gb raid5 run by a Compaq Smart 2dh hardware raid controller. I run a 2.6.0-test9 kernel and a 2.4.22 openmosix kernel. Both work fine, but each recognizes my block device differently. The openmosix kernel sees it as /dev/ida/disc0/, but the 2.6 kernel sees it as /dev/ida/c0d0/. As a result, i have to change my /etc/fstab whenever I want to switch kernels so it reflects the kernel in quesion's particular method of referencing the device. Can anyone help me out with a script or something?

Thanks in advance!
