Those tip of the day boxes that popup whenever i run a new app are oversized... they're about 2x wider than my screen and about normal height. Other popup dialog boxes (can't remember off the top of my head) are also oversized... is there a setting which will fix this? |

Which font are you using as general font Try replacing it and see if it helps. If not it may be an issue of 3.1alpha1 (if that's what you're running). _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

i don't think it's the fonts, i changed those already. i'm also using kde 3.0.2.
only the first 'tip of the day' (first kde start) was normal sized the next 'totd' was oversized (konqueror i think)... and all other totd's after that |

I'm having exactly the same problem with KDE 3.0.2. I don't know what caused it, but at least you know there's someone else out there with the same problem. _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..

Anyone check to see if there is a bug filed for KDE? _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Here's a bug that seems similar, but not quite the same. My windows aren't larger than the screen, they are just really really wide. Does this bug seem to match what other people have found? It says it was found on KDE 3.0.2 with GCC 2.95.2. _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..

That can be problem but doesn't have to with latest qt,
I emerged kde with the latest stable qt and had oversized tip windows as well.

I have the same problem too. But i found out a perhaps interesting part. If you right click on the dialog box, you will see that the window is maximized...don't know how the mark got there...and it will also appaer there if you make it away...perhaps the size is saved in some configuration file..?!? |
