Posted: Fri May 17, 2019 4:38 am Post subject: [solved] Having issues getting the thermald to function |
I bought a NUC, its is a ITX based computer. It overheats pretty easily while compiling so, I installed thermald to help control the cpus. The RAPL sysfs doesnt exists, I think its because the powercap sysfs doesnt exist either. PowerCap is builting the kernel but there are many unknown symbols errors in dmesg such as powercap_unregister_zone and few others that are repeated several times. I have make clean and rebuilt by 'make && make modules_install && make install'. I have been working on this for a few days now, I feel like I am missing something pretty basic. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I fixed it. It was problem with fstab I had a typeo in the line of my boot partition so it was not getting mounting at boot. When I do the initial install of gentoo I always mount to the boot until the system becomes stable. So once I mount to boot correctly and copied over the new kernel it worked. Imagine that. |
