I want to make sure I am doing this correct.
Code: |
emerge --sync
emerge -auDNv world
emerge -1v app-portage/unsymlink-lib
unsymlink-lib --analyze
unsymlink-lib --migrate
Reboot sytem ...
unsymlink-lib --finish
Select 17.1 profile
Rebuild the toolchain:
emerge -1v sys-devel/gcc:8.3.0
emerge -1v sys-devel/binutils
emerge -1v sys-libs/glibc
emerge -1v /lib32 /usr/lib32
rm /lib32 /usr/lib32
|
Is that correct? Anything more that has to be done? |

No if you have switched from 17.0 to 17.1, there is some other step if you switch from 13 to 17.1.
You also do not forget to backup you important data. _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

You should only rebuild all gcc version installed.
eselect news read 35: | ...
10. Rebuild the toolchain:
# emerge -1v sys-devel/gcc:8.3.0
[ repeat for other slots you will be using ]
[ if you are upgrading from 13.0 profile, also: ]
# emerge -1v sys-devel/binutils
# emerge -1v sys-libs/glibc
... |
