My USB key just stopped being recognised by Gentoo. It is recognised by the kernel:
Code:
[   39.219457] usb 2-1: new SuperSpeed Gen 1 USB device number 2 using xhci_hcd
[   39.232703] usb 2-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0951, idProduct=1666, bcdDevice= 1.00
[   39.232709] usb 2-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[   39.232712] usb 2-1: Product: DataTraveler 3.0
[   39.232715] usb 2-1: Manufacturer: Kingston
[   39.232717] usb 2-1: SerialNumber: blahblahblah
[   39.235223] usb-storage 2-1:1.0: USB Mass Storage device detected
[   39.235674] scsi host0: usb-storage 2-1:1.0
[   40.244938] scsi 0:0:0:0: Direct-Access     Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 PMAP PQ: 0 ANSI: 6

However, it does not show up under /dev/sd* or in lsblk. It is perfectly recognised and readable/writable in Windows 10.
What could the issue be?

alogim,

I guess its an exfat device and you don't have sys-fs/fuse-exfat installed.
Its more than that as your dmesg does not show any SCSI device name or partitions either.

Maybe your USB bus is overloaded and its doing load shedding.

With the device connected, run
Code:
lsusb -vvv
and pastebin the output.
Remove device serial numbers if you want to.

Do the same for all of dmesg. Again, remove device serial numbers if you want to.
