Hello everyone,
I have been trying to get qutebrowser to work for the last few days and I keep
running into an issue with qtwebengine. Does anyone have any ideas? Here is
all the info I can think of. Let me know if I'm missing anything.
Things I have tried:
* With (and without) cpu_flags_arm_neon
* every version of qutebrowser and qtwebengine
* with (and without) CFLAGS
* using "-march=armv7l" in CFLAGS
Here is where it fails:

Kashire,
At face value, skia is broken. The bad news is that its not a USE flag.
However, as you have MAKEOPTS="-j4", the build messages are all mixed up in the build log, so that error may be caused by another error further up log.
Make friends with wgetpaste and share the whole log please.

Try with MAKEOPTS="-j1" and USE="-jumbo-build"
MAKEOPTS="-j4" and USE="jumbo-build" both put a huge pressure on RAM. With dev-qt/qtwebengine and only 4G RAM, MAKEOPTS="-j2" would be borderline.
I don't think its run out of RAM yet but parallel makes expose broken build systems.

A quick update on this issue:
1. I switched over to 64-bit.
2. I cranked up the swap up to 8GB.
One of those two things may have fixed it.
Although, please note that I did use Sakaki's 64bit build,
"slimmed it down", and it compiled just fine.
Since there's a lot of variables in that: I will hopefully be
able to work on another install from a clean 64-bit install.
But I'm updating just to let everyone interested know that
it can compile with this specific setup. |

Looking into it a bit deeper, I now understand that that those lines are static in the sources, so it seems more about the 'configs' variable, or what is being fed to it (as pointed out by the build log...).
I'm not sure if it could be due to the variable not being set at all yet, and then it's trying to remove something (if that even matters), or if the something hasn't been set, so it can't remove it. Not too familiar with the GN stuff still, so I'm very much guessing things here.
Aside from these thoughts, I don't think I have anything else to go by at this time. :\

Yeah, you may say that. But the real solution after all these years is to move away from this shit.
Every single update and they still cant get it right. E is looking real nice , none of this this crap. |
