|
|
Dear all Gentoo gurus
Today I decided to replace FreeBSD with Gentoo on my 2.5Ghz DP/512MB 400/160GB/SD/R9600XT/56K/PCI-X Power Mac G5 (PowerMac7,3 Model A1047, Sales Number M9457LL/A).
I used Rufus (Windows app) to flash my USB with install-powerpc-minimal-20191003T102503Z.iso (which is the latest)
I successfully booted the Live USB however the booting failed with stacktrace.
Please see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fY5t4pbWAA for the details
Any help would be appreciated.
P/S: Any guidance on to extract more useful information to aid Gentoo members to
help me, please do not hesitate to let me know. |

I am not super knowledgable but it sounds similar to issues I had encountered. While talking about a different subject (GRUB), it makes me wonder. Have you tried any other linux install media such as an old debian or ubuntu install image?
If you can get one of those to boot, you can install gentoo per my post at the bottom of https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1102446-highlight-.html |
