Hello,
can anyone help create new ebulids for vdr and its plugins?
Once I tried to compile a new version of plugins from sources, but I gave up after compilation errors.
Now I think somebody has local ebulids, but he knows how to do it to run the latest vdr version on gentoo.
I need:
- media-video / vdr-2.4.1
- media-plugins / vdr-dvbapi-2.2.5
- media-plugins / vdr-vnsiserver-1.8.0
- media-plugins/vdr-streamdev-0.6.1-latest(2017-09-30)

You can try to send an email to Joerg Bornkessel (seems the proxy maintainer for vdr), I recently open a bug for app-eselect/eselect-vdr package and he has solved problem.

I was reminded that I also need the "vdr-convert" plugin to convert old and new recordings from H264 to the H265 codec for mobile devices with low internet speed (8-15Mbps) for streaming.

I didn't find Ebulid, but installing this plugin seems difficult due to dependencies. |

I got the link to ebulid vdr-2.4 in Lucian overlay -> https://github.com/lucianm/gen2ovl-googoo2
I learned that I had to wait 2-3 weeks. Bugzilla bugs reported first will be repaired. After that, work on the ebulid to vdr 2.4.1 will be started.
I will stay on vdr 2.2. Tests the vdr-convert and streamdev plugins. |

I read that the latest "media-plugins / vdr-dvbapi" is not compatible with the new changes in the latest vdr. "Multi Transponder Decryption" does not work in vdr-dvbapi, but I don't use it. Expects improved operational stability.
The "vdr-convert" plugin does not work on my system. I get an error saying that I need some information about ffmpeg subtitles. A compressed copy of the recording on a disk is useful when copying a movie via wifi to a portable external disk.
The "media-plugins / vdr-streamdev- ~ 0.6.1_p20160320" plugin stops when streaming TV recordings on the hard disk. It's crashing. I hope the last version of github has this bug fixed. |
