Try reemerging it -- if it fails somewhere else (or not at all), then you've got hardware problems. Don't fret -- it
may be possible to fix them without replacing anything. Search the fora for "segmentation fault" to find
numerous posts on the issue.
The same thing happened to me a few years ago. One of my RAM chips had apparently gone bad. I replaced it,
and there weren't any more (unpredictable) segmentation faults. |
