So guys i have a USB thunderbolt dock that is having some kernel based issue i think.
When i unplug it and plug it back in half of the dock no longer works, monitors don't turn back on, ethernet port stops responding and freezes in dmesg.
As long as it does not get unplugged and re-plugged when my laptop is on , it has no issues.
It worked fine in mxlinux19
Tried a few different kernels 4.19, 4.8, 5.3.8
Thinking there might be something in make menuconfig that would solve this but i am not sure what.... |

Can you share your kernel .config file? As I've got a Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Workstation dock with my laptop and it works fine, so there's likely something missing in your kernel.
P.S.: I assume you have thunderbolt-software-user-space installed and compiled your applications with the "thunderbolt" USE flag? Does gnome see the devices when you go into: Settings -> Devices -> Thunderbolt? If not, then the user-space software isn't registered successfully / your USE flags are not set correctly. |
