I've been running pfsense on a PCEngines board for a few years now. I think I have the apu2 version so its been a while. Its basically been great, no issues with pfsense. I have a good sized house so I use a couple Ubiquiti AP's for Wifi. There is a pfsense build running on a BSD version available that can be installed on the pcengines box and there are a few tutorials online showing how to do it. You will need to do the install over a serial connection do I had to get a USB to serial cable and a null modem connector if I remember right.
The only issue I have now with it is that the older pfsense builds fit on about half the SSD so the install process splits the SSD in 2 and uses one part as a backup. Never versions need the whole thing so I need to do a full re-install to upgrade 2.4. |
