Every so often I find portage goes a little wrong and I have to post to forums or IRC to fix it, no big deal as I'm not expecting RedHat reliability.
But I was wondering, perhaps there's a way to combine the reliability of say, RedHat with the dynamics of Gentoo.
Could I somehow have /usr/portage as usual unpacked onto a RedHat install and somehow have Gentoo in it's own directory? At the very least perhaps there's a way I could dual boot without needing a massive harddrive - only got 30gb
I would use Gobo Linux but it's binary so you couldn't use portage. Perhaps portage can be combined with Gobo on top of RedHat?!
I've got a feeling something like this has been done before, I just need a word to google with. |
