Hi all.
I've just started to tidy up my computer for a long lasting upgrade and I wanted to check Unreal Tournament 2004 (a game I *love*) and I was prompted with that error message:
ut2004: | AL lib: (EE) UpdateDeviceParams: Failed to set 44100hz, got 48000hz instead
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 153 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 3 (X_GLXCreateContext)
Value in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 31
Current serial number in output stream: 32
AL lib: (EE) alc_cleanup: 2 devices not closed |
I've installed it using portage (Linux native port). I've tried to find where I could adjust audio parameters but it's been so long I haven't had to do that I don't remember what/how to. Also I didn't find anything on the interwebs .
To top it all, re-emerging it wants USE flag opengl but the latter seems to be masked:
Code: | Calculating dependencies... done!

What am I supposed to do then? I'm afraid I'll lose openGL capabilities if I upgrade the package. Can anyone shed some light?
Thanks in advance for any hint/suggestion. _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

I think in past opengl use flag is for install client side and without it only server. Now you install all two part see commit:
Code: | commit 731ccc5fd59675c7535c09ffe04265d10313fe1b
Author: James Le Cuirot <chewi@gentoo.org>
Date: Sun Oct 27 23:38:36 2019 +0000
games-fps/ut2004: Drop USE flags, add init script, misc improvements
If you just want the server without the client part of the game, use
ut2004-ded instead. This package now unconditionally installs both the
client and the server init script.
Package-Manager: Portage-2.3.78, Repoman-2.3.17

Ah thanks. That's clearer now. Upgrade is still running and I'll have to wait until it's done before I upgrade the game — didn't want to run all the upgrades in verbose mode... _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

Its a bit of a long shot, but have you got a 64 bit OS? If so, it may be worth giving the 64bit patch a shot. |

I didn't know such a patch existed . So yes, I do have a 64-bit system (32-bit ones are long gone now). I've always run the game with the 32-bit ABI enabled, [almost] just for that... _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...
