|

I didn't have any luck with the gentoo net-print/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr e-build but got this to work finally:
- download the ESC/P-R Driver 2 (generic driver) rpm for the ET-3760 from the epson support page
- rpm2targz and gunzip
- make
- cp epson-inkjet-printer-escpr2-1.1.10/src/pson-escpr-wrapper2 to /usr/libexec/cups/filter/
- run cups printer discover and then add the printer with the ppd file in epson-inkjet-printer-escpr2-1.1.10/ppd
It's ugly, but at least I can print and I'm guessing the ebuild will be working soon so I can do a proper install.
Any improvements on the process please let me know.
Tested in gimp, libreoffice and qpdfview. OK. |

Tested this on epson driver build 1.1.30 - works fine still.
Some extra notes:
There are several linux packages to choose from on the epson support page. The one with the source code is
- epson-inkjet-printer-escpr2-1.1.30-1lsb3.2.src.rpm
It's a goofy driver package build. The source code is in a tar file inside a gzip file inside a tar file inside a gzip file inside the rpm.
Also, I forgot to add that you also have to do:
./configure
./make
./make install
Re-tried the net-print/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr package but can't get it to work on x86 at all. I'm surprised there's
no package available for these Epson printers, since they are selling well. |
