elogind feels like a downgrade, my laptop doesn't know if its plugged in or not, and defaults to thinking its unplugged. i don't get why pm-utils couldn't have been maintained instead of forcing us to use more systemd.

edit: and of course, now it starts working after i reboot my laptop. /facepalm
