ciao,
volevo installare gentoo1.4 (uso gia' debian-sid), ho provato ad usare lo stage3, ma quando installo il System Logger (emerge app-admin/syslog-ng) emerge mi viene cancellato, avete qualche idea su cosa sbaglio?
Uso il cd-live scaricato dal sito gentoo.org per Athalon-xp e la guida del sito gentoo.it

Inanzitutto benvenuto. In che senso viene cancellato? se dai il comando
emerge ti risponde bash: emerge: command not found? Se non ti da questo
errore posta quello che ti da.

si, dice che non trova nessun comando emerge in /usr/bin/
inoltre, se faccio una copia del programma emerge prima che questo scompaia, questa copia non funziona dopo che /usr/bin/emerge e' stato cancellato (da' un problema di librerie)[/quote] |

ok, ho rifatto tutta la procedura, dopo aver scritto:
emerge app-admin/syslog-ng
il sistema compila e le iltime righe sono:
Regenerating GNU info directory index ...
Processed 41 info files.
poi se provo a scirvere:
emerge gimp
ho come errore
bash: /usr/bin/emerge: No such file or directory |

Non so che dirti le ultime righe vuol dire che la compilazione e' andata a buon
fine.

grazie a tutti, adesso sembra funzionare, ho formattato il tutto in reiserfs e fatto un emege portage appena fatto emerge sync.
