Chromium 83 looks a little too big

I was doing a system update and decided to upgrade Chromium from the current 81.0.4044.138 to the newer 83.0.4103.44, which by my understanding is still officially a beta.

When I did so, everything got bigger. Tabs got bigger, the text within them got much bigger also (not comically large, just about twice as big as usual, about as big as Firefox or slightly bigger) and the window contents were also a little bit too big. Even the saved windows themselves got bigger.

My question is just, for anyone who is using 83 compared to 81, is this normal behavior that Google somehow thought was a good idea, or did I break things somehow?

I switched back to 81 for now and things went back to normal.
