Unable to install gentoo on a chromebook using gentoo livecd

I simply have no keyboard input.

I assume this is a kernel "issue" on the gentoo livecd.
There is a post about this or a similar issue here that details a patch from one of GalliumOS' kernel branches.

This is a cyan build, but do my specifications matter? Is this a general chromebook issue?
More importantly is, how should i patch the kernel on the livecd iso?

Is there anyone who has successfully done this?
