A small note about using a
17a0:0001 Samson Technologies Corp. C01U condenser microphone
As this microphone has 2 cascaded amplifiers but is detected as stereo microphone by fault, the main amp on left channel only must be remapped to mono to get the best performance:
Code: | # grep Samson /etc/pulse/default.pa
load-module module-remap-source source_name=Samson_C01U-mono master=alsa_input.usb-Samson_Technologies_Samson_C01U-00.analog-stereo master_channel_map=front-left channel_map=mono
set-default-source Samson_C01U-mono |
I found some howtos around describing that issue on Linux, pointing me to the solution, but none explaining how to do that with PulseAudio. Some of the howtos have been mapping both channels to mono which I think is not the right way, as the right channel is just a pre-amplified signal. _________________ HP ZBook Power 15.6" G8 i7-11800H|HP EliteDesk 800G1 i7-4790|HP Compaq Pro 6300 i7-3770 |
