Hi there,

a common question whether someone is experienced with this (I'am not yet):

I wanna setup a samba server of the next gen (or the 2.2). The problem is, that I don't want to edit each user into a different smbpasswd file and even don't wanna use a LDAP; I haven't so much users anyway. The complexity of it is as follows:

Windows 2003 Server
- managing all M$ users with AD
- authentication against the implemented W2003 KDC

Gentoo Linux Fileserver
- exporting home directories to the W2003
- user management with nis
- authentication with Kerberos against the W2003 KDC

Is this possible at all? And if yes, do anyone have any hints or resources available for it? The most important point here is the question concerning samba, the other stuff is already running.

Thanks in advance

It should answer most of your questions.
