I have a router machine and I decided I would have my amule there now, so I installed xfree, and amule. When I open amule I get a thin line in one side of the screen that it's supposed to be amule.
Since I didn't know if it was something about the default window manager in X I installed fluxbox to try and it happens the same. Here is a screenshot:
(see amule on the left of the screen)

Maybe it's me, is the first time I use fluxbox, but I can't resize that window or anything, so I'm asuming that is an amule problem. Other applications that came with fluxbox open fine.
Any ideas?

you should be able to grab the window with the left mouse button while holding the ALT or META key and move it to the center.
this works with fluxbox, i never tried it in a plain x session.

good luck ;)

I did that after I posted this, but the window is really 10 pixels wide, notice that the window is not touching the border of the screen.
I emerged xmule and the same happened, I really don't know what could it be, it's really strange. :(

I've found something else, if I run "xhost +", and then run amule with root it starts without any problems.
Any ideas on this?

I read somewhere that if you're logged in with one person, and are trying to open new X windows with another, you get an error. And if you set "Xhost +" then any user, not necessarily the one logged in can open new windows.

Perhaps you're trying to open amule with a different user?

This might not be your problem. But worth a post :)

No, thats not my problem, the program is open, I enabled the web interface and I can login and everything. I just can't resize that odd window.
It is possible that this is a gtk problem?, I don't have any other gtk programs installed to try. (Not sure what could I install without having to install a lot of other dependencies)
