|
|
I have an IBM Thinkpad x23 and I know that it has a soundcard made by Crystal and uses ac97codec but for the life of me I cannot get it working. I followed the instructions on the Gentoo Homepage but didn't get it working. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this? Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Ok I have tried loading all kind of modules for sound and I still can't get it to work.. I made sure that my volume was not down, so I am pretty sure I would have heard it if it wokred. In the KDE Control Center, under Information >> Sound I have the following listed:

Kernel: Linux <hostname> 2.4.19-r1 # <date>
Config options: 0
Installed Drivers:
Type 10: ALSA emulation
Card config:
Intel ICH3 at 0xic00, irq 11
Audio devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG
