Hi,
I have a laptop that I use docked and undocked. With Gentoo using hotplug, while docked it has three ethernet ports while undocked it has two:
Docked:
eth0 = laptop port
eth1 = dock port
eth2 = wireless port
Undocked:
eth0 = laptop port
eth1 = wireless port
Under Fedora core , 'kudzu' setup the devices such that regardless if the laptop was docked or not, it always had the docked configuration, just that eth1 wouldn't work.
I'd like to replicate that in gentoo; is there a way to make the dock port always appear regardless of whether or not the laptop is docked? It's just to make things easier for iwconfig and other tools that barf when the wireless port changes from eth2 to eth1.
Thanks,
Anthony |
