I have a Digigram soundcard which relies on the "pcxhr" firmware which is usually included in alsa-firmware on other distro's but your version does not have it included.
Not sure if this is the right place for the request to add it but i can file a bug report if thats the proper way
No rush i copied it over from another distro and everything works.
Thanks! |

Welcome to the forums.
Not familiar with it but I believe you need to set ALSA_CARDS=pcxhr for alsa-firmware to install it, gives me a /lib/firmware/pcxhr/ directory with several files, is this what you need?
Edit: can see full list with emerge -pv alsa-firmware Code: | [ebuild R ] sys-firmware/alsa-firmware-1.2.1::gentoo ALSA_CARDS="maestro3* ymfpci* -aica -asihpi -ca0132 -cs46xx -darla20 -darla24 -echo3g -emu10k1 -emu1212 -emu1616 -emu1820 -gina20 -gina24 -hdsp -hdspm -indigo -indigoio -korg1212 -layla20 -layla24 -mia -mixart -mona -msnd-pinnacle -pcxhr -sb16 -usb-usx2y -vx222 -wavefront" 0 KiB | As you can see -pcxhr is disabled by default, and by setting ALSA_CARDS you can install only what you need install of all of it. |

Thanks for the welcome!
Am really enjoying my time here so far, all the goals i set for myself have been achieved in the last week. First some playing around in a vm and now i'm committed. My old Fedora install has been moved to a spare ssd. It's staying there for backup. Doesn't want to show up in Grub on Gentoo even with os-prober though but it's no big deal. |
