I've used it for a long time as well as kmail, but neither
one is compatible with startmail any longer. Evolution will not emerge
so that is out.
Any suggestions for an email client would be appreciated.

Maybe you should figure out why evolution won't emerge? It clearly isn't working as supposed. Is there a bug open about your problem? |

For a fairly fully featured, reliable and efficient GUI client Sylpheed / Claws are very good. |

What's the matter with Startmail and Thunderbird? Startmail home page specifically says it's compatible with Thunderbird. _________________ Andy Figueroa

Thanks for these suggestions. I will look at them.
Thank you for the confirmation on kmail as well.
I'm done with Thunderbird. An update has never so trashed my address book!
I assume the application is headed to oblivion. _________________ ASPushkin

How do we advocate to remove an application fro portage?
I think Thunderbird should be removed from Portage.
My last update destroyed my address book and this had never occurred before.

Re: Removal of Thunderbird
I don't think that's going to go anywhere. I can confirm that my address-book is still intact as usual.
How about restore from backup? _________________ Andy Figueroa
