I've just got access to an UltraSparc of some sort, and I was planning to replace the Debian installation on it with Gentoo.
Now I know very little about this machine, and it doesn't have a CDROM, only a floppy. The Gentoo installation document doesn't mention any way to create a bootable floppy to start a network boot process. Is there any way to do this? Or perhaps a better way of getting Gentoo installed on a system without a CDROM?
p.s. No one knows the passwords to the installed Debian, so I won't be able to boot into the existing Debian installation to install gentoo. |

If you can get the machine installed to a network usable state with any distro (maybe booting off a small partition in the beginning that will become swap or /boot later) or boot disk, you can download the stage image and get everything started from that to the rest of the drive.
