Guys please help, I'm not able to emerge/install the gemkernel!
When I try to emerge sys-kernel/genkernel, 2 errors show up:
"ERROR: app-arch/cpio-2.12-r1::gentoo failed"
I'm not able to emerge wgetpaste also;
Shows "failed to emerge..."
I'm stuck at this point, please guide. |

Welcome to gentoo forum.
You should provide full build.log (portage tell you the full path of file) with wgetpaste and your emerge --info. _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Probably something wrong in your CFLAGS but you should post your emerge --info.
A typically error is confusing -O2 (with letter O correct case) with -02 (number zero) . _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

In CFLAGS you have -MARCH=native -O2 =pipe, this is completely wrong and must be -march=native -O2 -pipe. _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Thank you so much! It works now!
However, there is one problem. I exited chroot and chrooted back, and now my /mnt directory is showing empty. However when I exit the chroot environment, all my files are there.
How do I fix this? |

I did, now my files are showing, but when I use emerge command, it says:
emerge: command not found
What have I done wrong now? |

Hard to say, what handbook step you have done? You are sure you mounted all partition before chroot? _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

I remounted everything and env-update worked this time and emerge is working now!
Thank you for your support. |
