Heres the story:
I have a raid card that works awesome in windows. The plain atapi driver in windows recognizes it since the bios recognizes the card(and array) as a single hard drive (cool i know). In linux though, it needs a patch. At the time the patch available was for the 2.4 kernel. The devs finally wrote me a patch for a 2.6 kernel (i guess im the only one with this card that uses linux???) but it looks like it patches 2.4 headers, and builds for a 2.6 kernel. Im wondering how hard it would be to port this patch to work with 2.6 headers, and 2.6 kernel.
also, im going to re-install my system. So id like to have / on the raid array. is it possible to use the livecd with a different kernel (one that i patched already so it can see my array?) _________________ Thunder k8w, 2 Opteron 244s, 2GB Corsair, Audigy 2 Platinum eX, 6800 GT OC, 3Ware 9500S-4LP |
