|
|
Hi,
I need XFS support in my kernel so i did Code: | emerge --usepkg xfs-sources | . Didn't forget to Code: | ln -s /usr/src/linux-2.4.20-xfs-r3/ /usr/src/linux | either.
"make menuconfig" didn't give me the choice to enable XFS support under file systems though.
<rant> I thought, what the heck, maybe it's enabled by default and I'm not even given the choice, because that's what an xfs kernel is for anyway, including XFS support, although that is not what I know from compiling XFS support in my hand-rolled kernals, and it goes somewhat against the declared gentoo philosophy of maximum configurability. </rant>
So I compiled the kernel anyway, and lo, no xfs support was compiled. No directory fs/xfs in the source tree either.
So what's wrong with the xfs kernel or my actions?

i haven't used the xfs file system or the xfs-sources kernel, but i would think that it would be automatically supported with the xfs-sources kernel
especially since it's not a choice for file systems. what i would do would be compile the kernel the boot with it and see what happens |
