Does anyone know of a device similar to this TV Hat?
Apparently they are not for sale for home use in the USA. I know an HDhome would work too, but this is compact enough for mobile use.

Thank you for the links! yes, no problem there. it's on it's way via Royal Mail (was that a good option?)
I hope PayPal gave me a good exchange rate.
Not the first time that I bought something (books, film) from the UK that were not available in the USA (land of the fee - sic). |

The US Over The Air transmissions are in the ATSC format, not DVB-T or DVB-T2. |

Yes, really only a demodulater is needed for xine or ffmpeg to play them.

I still buy Nautical related British books from a bookstore I visited in Toronto in the mid-80's. They advised me to ship by mail instead of commercial to avoid custom delays. I'm still doing that, but I was shocked by the prices last year until I saw the exchange rate. The Canadian dollar has fallen a lot since the mid-80s. Faster than the USD which has fallen bad enough.
EDIT: Amazon UK is not supposed to sell here either. If they hadn't ignored that little legal fine point, I wouldn't have my Tripod DVD's. And from a British computer shop on e-bay I bought my Win 7 license, far cheaper than M$soft wanted. Seller claimed to have a bulk license to sell with new or repaired PC's. A few weeks later a broken piece of PC arrived via royal mail. I still have the envelope. Saved it as a souvenir. I could have bought the license for $4 from an Algerian seller, but I confess that I succumbed to Anglophone prejudice and felt more comfortable with a UK seller. Bought the Win 10 license from an Arizona seller. It's in a VM in case I need it for Turbotax. My god! it's ghastly! took three hours to install and remove all the optional spyware. With that license giving them the right to inspect and delete all files, I wouldn't put it anywhere but a VM. |

I have 3 usb dongles and 2 of them work really good, I really don't think the hat is better in any way. Also there is only 1 tuner it is not ideal for a family ..
I am considering a TBS 5280 dual tuner that is apparently well supported by linux _________________ Ok boomer
