OK, if I do this:
rc-update add apache2 default...
eth0 doesn't start on boot, complains about device not found, and none of the net services start.
And, if I try to work around by adding:
apache2 -D PHP4 -k start
to apache2.sh in cron.hourly, nothing happens. (the php command is because my apache2.conf OPTS do not work.)
If my machine powers down, apache2 must restart on, or nearly after boot.
This is crappy. |

But wait, it gets more bizarre.
Adding courier-imap also blows up the NIC on reboot.
BUT, If I let it boot, then type 'rc'..... eth0, apache2, and imap all start correctly.
WTF? |
