|
I built a new Gentoo OS on an SSD drive, then I remove this SSD drive from sata connect on motherboard and insert it into a USB3 enclusure.
I connect this USB3 enclosure onto the same PC USB3 external port to boot it up.
To my unexpected, it can't be boot up from on USB connection most of the time.
The failure message looks,
cfg80211: failed to load regulatory.db
ata4:SATA link down (SStatus 0 SControl 300)
......
VFS: Cannot open root device "sda4" or unknown-block(0,0): -6
Please append a correct "root=" boot option; here are the avilable partitions:
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)
P.S. When I use the USB3 enclosure to boot, there are no drives at all on mother board SATA connectors
Because I can't copy/paste from console, I took a picture. If anyone know how to upload jpg, I can post it here. |
