|
|
This thread may fit better in the framebuffer support thread, but as I suspect this is an X-server problem I post it here.
I have my desktop area streched so it covers all of my CRT (as do we all), and as I primarily uses X + KDE this is what I have optimized for.
However, whenever I boot into Win2k and when booting linux with framebuffer and bootsplash the screen moves off centre to the left.
The screen stays in centre whenever I use a windowmanager based on X (ie KDE, Gnome, Windowmaker...), or when booting linux without FB-Bootsplash.
Anyone know what I can do to correct this?

This has to do with X, framebuffer and Windows are each using different refresh rates for your monitor. I believe there is a patch for framebuffer that will allow you to set the refresh rate to the same that you are using in X and in Windows. |

But wouldn't that mean that the picture would move around in windows when I'm changing the refresh rate?

Run xvidtune, set it up how you like, and tell it to show you the modelines. Put the modelines into your XF86Config, and restart x. Have fun ![Razz :P](images/smiles/icon_razz.gif) |
