What is the difference between emerge -u world and emerge -u system
With what option do i upgrade the whole system |

world updates all installed packages
system just the base system (all you really need to run linux) |

So to see if i am right
A emerge -u world includes all the packages you would get when do emerge -u system except with some extra packages you emerge by yourself like gkrellm to name one?

Yup. Everything ever emerged that can be updated will be updated with emerge -u world, only the core of your Linux box will be upgraded with emerge -u system.
Let me warn you when using emerge -u world, every now and then ebuilds will be heavily modified and you might break something. _________________ - Kyle Manna
