|
|
I am new to Gentoo and ebuilds, so I am not to savvy in this department. I wanted to get winex and Microsuck Office 2000 running but I kicks out of the make after unpacking the dependancy yacc-1.9.1.
I have already tried emerge rsync to make sure this is the latest. It looks as though I will need to manually specify some paths but I don't know where to start. Anyway, everything else I have emerged has worked without any problems. Any ideas guys?
This is what happens when I try to emerge...
root@Quantum portage # emerge winex
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge dev-util/yacc-1.9.1-r1 to /
>>> md5 ;-) yacc-1.9.1.tar.Z
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking yacc-1.9.1.tar.Z
/usr/sbin/ebuild.sh:
cd: var/tmp/portage/yacc-1.9.1-r1/work/yacc-1.9.1: No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `Makefile': No such file or directory
sed: can't read Makefile.orig: No such file or directory
>>> Source unpacked.
make: *** No rule to make target `clean'. Stop.
!!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 1, Exitcode 2
!!! (no error message)
!!! emerge aborting on /usr/portage/dev-util/yacc/yacc-1.9.1-r1.ebuild . |

Not to divert you from your original question or anything, but have you given OpenOffice a go? It's really quite good at dealing with .doc format stuff. Just a thought. On the topic of your question it looks like a broken ebuild of YACC. I found this bug report on the problem you reported. |

OpenOffice is great! I just want some other things on wine also...
And then theres my dad whom Bill Gates has assimilated. He is an Access/VisualBasic Developer (he thinks C is to complicated). I need to show him the supreme way of Linux.... |
