Gentoo + Novell eDirectory (gettext problem)

hi,

i get the novell edirectory demo iso.

when i start the the nds-install i get this message:

localhost setup # ./nds-install

"gettext" package is not found on your system.
This package is required for displaying multi-lingual messages.
Please install this package to proceed with Novell eDirectory installation ...

but i have installed the gettext package
