Hi
I have managed to get Gnome 2.4 in & running but I have lost alot of panel items...
Windows when they minimise they disappear from the screen
What is going on ?
On shutdown I get error sbin/rc line 9 ????
GDM error (!!) ????
I did get a message saying that alot of config files need updating but as a newbie I do not know how to do it
What is the best way to update system in the future?

Right-click on your panel -> add to panel -> tools -> windowlist (or similar).
That's the common window list.
As for the error, why don't you check out whats in rc in line 9 ?
To update config files, use etc-update. Make sure you don't let it overwrite any configs you modified to get your system running (i.e., don't let it touch fstab ) |
